How we came to be
In 1998, my family came to the United States as refugees after we left our homeland of Ex-Yugoslavia – not by choice, but because of the war in Bosnia. We lost everything. We arrived in the US with no money and spoke no English. All we had was each other and the hope we carried with us to start a new life in a land full of opportunities.
My father, Milan, began working for a construction company as a laborer. He dreamed of becoming a carpenter like his father and grandfather who were very well-known and highly respected in Bosnia. Meanwhile, I was going to college and in my heart, I wanted to own my own business but I didn’t have a vision for what that would be. I had also been working side jobs with my father as he loves to teach and wanted to pass on his skills to me.
In 2003, my father and I formed Milan & Sons Construction. It was an exciting and nerve-wracking experience but we knew we were on the path to something extraordinary. Over the years, we completed many projects, big and small, with great honor and respect for those who believed in us and our craftsmanship. They trusted us with a large volume of work and high-investment projects, from custom homes to business facilities to multi-story residential and commercial properties.
After twenty years in business, we have proudly held onto our roots with every new project we take on.
